Dwaraka Tirumala or Dwarakatirumala is a village and a mandal in West Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh inIndia. It is famous for temple of Lord Venkateswara. Dwaraka Tirumala is located about 40 kilometres from the west Godavaridistrict headquarters, Eluru 26 kilometres from ([Jangareddygudem)] This is also called as 'Chinna Tirupathi'.
Sri Kotasattemma Ammavari:
Sri Kotasattemma Ammavari Temple which is in Timmarajupalem village, Nidadavole Mandal, West Godavari Dist is origin of the 11th centuries. In 1036 a statue of Sattemma was found in farms of Sri Devulapalli Rama Murthy Sastry garu of Timmarajupalem village.
From that time people in that village and nearby villages started worshiping the Devi. It became very famous in very short time as people gained trust on Devi as their wishes were fulfilled after worshiping Devi. Many people from various far off places visit this temple to see Sattemma talli who`s decorated with various ornaments. Dasara is very well celebrated in this temple for nine days. From Margasira pournami to chavithi of December month “Tirunalla Utsavam” is also celebrated in a great way. Every Sunday and Tuesday thousands of devotees visit Ammavaru . Other days also hundreds of devotees visit this temple from various places.
Sri UMA SOMESHWARA JANARDHANA SWAMY temple Bhimavaram is located in West Godavari district of Andhrapradesh in India. It is one of the PANCHARAMA KSHETRAS of LORD Shiva called SOMARAMAM.
1)IT is
1000 Years old.The
Shiva Lingam here Changes it's colour on FULL and NEW Moon days as it
represents MOON God. There
is a POND opposite to this temple and is called as CHANDRA PUSHKARINI as it is
created by MOON GOD. The other name of this pond is SOMAGUNDAM. Godess
Annapurna is situated on the top of the Shiva Lingam in the 1st floor of the
temple and this type of construction is not found any where in INDIA. As
usually Godess Parvathi temple is Situated beside Lord Shiva. There
are FIVE (5)NANDI statues opposite to Shiva Lingam. Normally in any Shiva
temple there would be only 1 or 2 Nandis. Lord
Janardhana, Hanuman, Surya, Kumaraswamy, Navagrahas temples are located here.
Kolleru Lake
Kolleru is one of the biggest shallow fresh water lake in
the Asia which is located between the delta of Godavari and Krishna River in
the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The lake serves as a natural flood
balancing reservoir for the two rivers and has sustained the rich native flora
and fauna as well as the people living around it. It is used be an ideal habitat
hundreds of species of birds including migratory birds, 63 species of fishes,
fresh water turtles and amphibians…etc. worlds one of the very few breeding sites
as a grey pelican. Recognizing rich bio diversity of Kolleru Lake it was listed
as a wetland of international importance in the Ramsar Convention in 1971.
Papikondlu
The entrance of Papi kondalu can be seen from
Koruturu (West Godavari District).The original name for this hill range was
‘Papidi Kondalu’. Papidi is a rough translation for partition in Telugu. Since
this range looks like a well designed partition that splits river Godavari,
this name was coined. There is also another idea that the range looks like a
partition of a typical Indian Woman's hair line. In due course, it settled for
‘Papi Kondalu’.
Papikondalu Andhra Pradesh - "Papi
kondalu" or the "Papi Hills" are series of mountain
range that are located Rajahmundry in West Godavari Districtof Andhra Pradesh.
Papikondalu Mountain range runs along River Godavari, one of the largest and
vivacious rivers in India. The mighty river narrowing and passing with twists
and turns along the Papi Hills is every visitor's delight. Papikondalu mountain
range spreads over a vast area, covering about three districts of East
Godavari, West Godavari and Khammam Districts.
To get the real essence of Papikondalu, one has to
go for the boat journey either from Rajahmundry,Bhadachalamr. There are small
motor boats with capacity of five including the rider or River Streamers
carrying about fifty to sixty people. The journey takes about 8 hours and the
adventure begins the moment you step on to the boat. The ups and downs of the
river water, the drifting sand, the cool breeze, small fish that can be spotted
in the clean water and the fresh air from the Papikondalu Hills, give you one
of the best experiences to travel.
Sri Ksheera Rama Lingeswara
Palakollu is located in West
Godavari district of Andhrapradesh in India. Thhis place is famous for Lord
Shiva (Eshwara) temple which is considered as one of the Pancharama
temples. The
temple here is called Sri Kshira Rama Lingeshwara swamy. Excellent
transportation facility available to reach Palakollu. Very good service
available for trains and buses from other places of India. One more Pancharama
Kshetra called Bhimavaram is located
just 20Kms away from Palakollu. One more major city of West Godavari called
Narsapur is 25Kms away from here. Very frequent buses run towards Narsapur from
all other parts of Andhra Pradesh (by APSRTC). The temple is situated very
nearer to Bus station and no additional transportation is needed. The temple is
located beside a very narrow road. Palakollu is 20Kms from Bay of Bengal.
Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Temple
Pattiseema, a village on the banks of Godavari, is famous for the temple of Sri Veerabhadra, which is located on a hill known as Devakuta Parvata in the middle of the Godavari River. This temple is considered to be one of the Panchakasi Kshetrams of the Shaivaites. A life-size sculpture of Devi Bhadrakali adorned with a lot of ornaments and a sword is present here and the only way to get access the temple is via a boat.
Sri Jaganmatha Mavullamma Ammavari Temple is in the town of Bhimavaram. The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Mavullamma.
The temple history of Jaganmatha Sri Mavullamma came to limelight in the year 1880 AD. It is believed that she is laid in Motupallivari street, under couple of pipal and Neem tree. Every year in the month of "Jyesta masa" (third month of auspicious Telugu almanac calendar) on "Paadyami" (new slender crescent moon day), devotees celebrates one month long celebration in these months. There is a festive look every where in and around the town.
